Maryland Newborn Photographer | Baby John

So cute, so tiny.  And they come on their own time, not our schedules.

I remember so well the quick learning curve when I first became a parent.  I felt like I had read every book, purchased every possible piece of baby gear, and had all of my plans on how things would go.  Boy was I in for a shock!  My beautiful birth plan turned into an emergency c-section, my determined plans of breast feeding ended in a sea of bottle cleaning and formula, and my visions of a sleepy newborn were jolted awake with a case of infant acid reflux.  For a person who is a planner, it was hard to accept that I wasn’t in charge of how things would go.

I got the hang of it though, and when I see new parents going through the same thing I feel like we are kindred spirits, part of an elite club of Mommys and Daddies who have earned our parenting badges through sleepless nights, projectile vomiting, and crying that just won’t stop.  That was how I felt about Kristina and John instantly.  They had a huge surprise when their baby, John, decided he would make a very early appearance.  When Kristina came in to the studio I could tell she already had her badge and was totally rolling with it!  She was so relaxed and already a wonderful Mommy.  And baby John was a dream, of course.  I was honored to capture these fleeting newborn moments for them.
