A Boy in Autumn | Harford County Children’s Photographer | Anne Herbert

I loved this session for so many reasons.  First, my subject was the grandson of my first grade teacher!  How lovely to see her again and for us both to marvel at the passage of time.  Her grandson, Owen, had so much fun on the farm.  I think he was busy from the moment we arrived until we called it a day.  As with most boys this age, our best shots were caught during Owen’s important explorations!  I could have never gotten anything authentic out of attempting a posed portrait – but boy did we capture his emotions when he was in action!  Here are some images from the session.  In this first one I wanted to capture just how tiny he still is:

I just love this next expression!

And here again I wanted to show how small he was in this big big world.  And he looks back for safety, not to me, but to his mommy.

And this last one is my favorite.  It just called out for black and white…
